Single-Day COVID Records again in Illinois

The state of Illinois set another single-day record for COVID…. 10,376 cases with 49 new deaths.

Kankakee County also recorded a single-day new single-day record on Friday. There were 238 new cases. Eighty-two have died of virus symptoms, as of Friday.

Iroquois, Kankakee, Ford and Will County are all included with 72 other counties on the state’s COVID Warning List. Iroquois County’s latest numbers show 39 new cases Friday; there were 28 new cases Thursday. (The health officials continue to ask the public to avoid large gatherings, causing increased illness within the community. Ford County recorded its 16th COVID death on Friday.

McLean County had a positivity rate at 7.5% Friday, with 118 new cases.

Several area school districts are also reporting a return to remote-learning for the immediate future; positive cases involving students, staff and administrators.

Gov. Pritzker also began isolating again pending test results after another possibly being exposed to someone with COVID-19.
