Schools returning to remote-learning

Remote Learning appears to be “a norm” as more school districts make necessary adjustments. The surge in positive COVID cases finds area districts informing parents about immediate plans for learning. In Kankakee County – 11 positive cases surfaced among students in Bradley District 61; remote learning now until end of November. Bourbonnais Elementary District 53 is closing Liberty Intermediate, until November 30. There’s a number of unconfirmed cases there.

Due to recent positive COVID results reported by Dwight Public School staff members, full remote learning will be implemented and continue through Wednesday, November 18th. After consulting the Livingston County Health Department about CDC guidelines and COVID protocols, the decision was made that all Dwight school students will remain at home for remote learning for the next two weeks. Similiar schedules for remote learning are in place at GCMS and PBL in Ford County.

IN WATSEKA --- Unit 9 hs not had to move to remote learning. School Sup’t Dave Andreoni reports low-exposure of the virus at three school buildings, not enough to affect the learning atmosphere. Low-exposure is reported at Nette Davis, Wanda Kendall and the High School. The district and health officials continue to monitor the pandemic situation.
