A 45-year-old Pekin man faces a DUI charge after a crash this (Tues) morning on Illinois Route 47 north of Fisher. Nelson Towery had his truck stopped on the highway with its lights turned off. Illinois State Police said a semi driver swerved to avoid hitting Towery’s truck. The semi overturned then was hit by another woman’s car. Two drivers were injured, but are expected to survive. Towery was also cited for no insurance and for improper stopping on a roadway.
Traffic was detoured during the cleanup.
