There were no injuries reported in a residential fire on South 4th Avenue in Kankakee Monday night. A neighbor alerted emergency responders to the 800-block about 10:15 pm. Kankakee Fire Chief Damon Schuldt said crews found fire showing from a 2nd floor window. There was significant damage to the 2nd floor. No damage estimate was available. Chief Schuldt reported the fire appears to have been accidental.
