Rain, T-storms, wind and tornadoes possible Tuesday throughout Illiana

The remnants of Tropical Storm Cristobal could bring wind, rain, and the threat of severe storms to parts of central-Illinois and west-central Indiana today. As the storm moves across Missouri and Iowa, the local area could experience winds reaching 40 to 50 miles-per-hour this afternoon.

A "Wind Advisory" covers much of central Illinois through 8 pm. Gusty winds will linger into Wednesday and Thursday even as the storm system moves through the Great Lakes. Rain will expand across the area with heavy downpours this afternoon. Damaging winds will be the biggest threat from any storms that become severe. The NWS says tornadoes can't be ruled out.
