Primary Returns from Newton…Jasper…Benton…White Counties

The Republican ballot in Benton County, In offered voters a choice for Recorder won by Glenda Wallpe with 63% of the vote over Holly Logsdon. District 3 Commissioner went to Bryan Berry with 55% of the vote over Kevin Waibel. District 2 Commissioner winner was James Freeland over Andrew Wilkinson 71 – 29%.

A Benton School Corporation Property Tax referendum was a winner 51% to 49$. There were 879 Yes votes to 849 No.

In Newton County --- incumbent Surveyor Chris Knochel was defeated by Steve Snell 51 to0 48 percent. For County Treasurer, Jenni Swartz defeated Teri Knowles 52-47%. Kyle Conrad won a 3-person race for District 1 County Commissioner with 40% of the vote, defeating Trisha Dowden and Don Harris. The District 3 Commssioners race was won by Glen Butch Cain Jr with 72% of the vote, defeating Mickey Read.

A 7-person race for an At-Large seat for Jasper County County Council was won by Brett Risner with 20% of the vote. Jasper County Recorder was won by Kimberly Grow over Christina Tryon 61 – 39%.
In White County --- Superior Court Judge won by Brad Wooley over Robert Little 51 – 49%.

County Treasurer in a 3-person contest was won by Barbara Nydegger with 50% of the vote. District 1 Commissioner won by Steve Burton with 52% of the vote The District 2 Commissioner contest was won by Kevin Page. At-Large County Council winners were James Davis, Kevin Crabb and Art Anderson.

The At-Large Town Council contest in Chalmers went to Renee Collier over Kristofer Kelley.
