A handful of fire departments responded to a rural pole barn fire Friday, which rekindled later. The rural Crescent City location triggered a box alarm immediately. Crescent Fire Chief Scott Dirks said the pole barn was already destroyed when firemen arrived at 1857 E and 2150 N. The initial call around 3 pm brought mutual aid from Watseka, Ashkum, Danforth and Martinton. Crescent City EMS was also on the scene. No injury reported.
