Oakwood students donate to community

Money that would been used for Homecoming floats is now helping community origanizations.  Oakwood High School students stepped up by using the funds to assist the community.  Each class, Freshmen, sophomore, juniors and seniors each donated $500 to assist organizations for their needs. The students gathered at the high school football field Wednesday to make their presentations.

The freshmen class donated to the Survivors Resource Center. The sophomore class donated to the Citizens Animal Rescue & Adoption in Tilton while the Juniors gave their money to the Veterans Affairs Illiana Health Care System.  The senior class donated their $500 to the Vermilion County Court Appointed Special Advocates.
