NAACP teams with community leaders in rally against racism

The Kankakee County Fairgrounds was the setting for a community rally Tuesday evening. The local chapter of the NAACP welcomed visitors along with local law enforcement and the Hispanic Partnership teamed up to speak out against racism and police brutality.

The rally was in response to the country’s cry against the recent death of George Floyd of Minneapolis.

Theodis Pace is President of the NAACP. The rally’s mission, he said, is for justice and equality – all lives matter. Pace said ‘we want be sure that what’s happening across America doesn’t happen in Kankakee County.

Speakers included members of law enforcement, legislators and State’s Attorney Jim Rowe.
