A Midwest heat wave has a grip on most all of us. And just on time, many area pool and splash pad re-openings took place over the weekend. Watseka and Clifton had their pools welcoming visitors. Special safety guidelines are in place as officials deal with the continuing COVID-19 pandemic.

Local patrons are asked to visit websites or consult with pool managers for any special hours or other arrangements.

Officials encourage residents to follow the guidelines provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. That means stay home if you are sick or do not feel well, practice social distancing, wash hands often with soap and water, avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands, and WEAR A MASK WHEN NOT IN THE WATER.
