A COVID-friendly Christmas Decorating Contest in Milford is drawing a lot of interest and proving to be a suitable substitute for the canceled Village Christmas Parade. And the public is encouraged to get involved and vote for favorites in several categories, including the “Crowd Favorite.”

Judging takes place Saturday, December 19 from 5-9 pm. The entry deadline is Sunday, December 13. To enter call 815-786-5649.

Organizers report 42 residences and 11 businesses are registered so far. Judging in five categories for prizes calls for all neighboring communities to participate. Categories include: Merry & Bright, Inflatables+, Classic Christmas, Best Business and the Crowd Favorite. The viewers will select the “Crowd Favorite.”

Viewers are invited to pick up a listing of all entries at the Loafer’s Bench (across the street from the Milford Police Station) from 5-9 pm on judging day, December 19. And everyone is a given-vehicle is eligible to vote. returning votes by 9:15 pm.
