The races for the Illinois legislature, in the 79th House District and the 40th District Senate, were featured in a candidates’ forum in Kankakee. Tuesday’s event at the Kankakee Public Library was hosted by the Kankakee Chapter of the NAACP. One of the issues addressed was the Fair Tax Amendment voters get their say on.

The 79th House contest is between Democrat Charlene Eads and Republican Jackie Haas. The Senate race for the 40th District is between Republican Eric Wallace and Democrat Patrick Joyce.
