Kankakee Fire responded to a structure fire call this (Monday) morning to Riverstone Court. Fire Chief Damon Schuldt reported an unknown issue near a vent pipe on a commercial building. No injury or serious damage of any kind reported during the preliminary investigation.

           Helicopter Mishap at Morris Airport ---

One person was treated for a minor injury (Sunday) after a helicopter accident at the Morris Municipal Airport. Police reported helicopter was trying to land on the airport runway when a burst of wind tipped the chopper on its side. The pilot was practicing a touch-and-go maneuver at the time of the accident. The Federal Aviation Administration is handling the investigation.
