Kankakee Chamber celebrates positives despite difficult 2020

A challenging year, no doubt, but the Kankakee County Chamber of Commerce is still waving its winning banner. The Chamber’s annual meeting (Wednesday) had officials touting strong membership and a financial picture that’s still bright.

Author, entrepreneur and business-executive Gary Moore addressed a Zoom meeting audience, pointing to a thriving county-economy despite the challenges 2020 threw at us. Moore said the Kankakee County area still has hidden gems we should all be celebrating.

Moore said we don’t hear enough about two world-class hospitals, Olivet Nazarene University, Kankakee Community College, and hundreds of businesses that choose to be here. Moore said ‘it’s attitude and making a choice to be better that leads to success.’

Chamber Board Chairman Scott Smith directed the Zoom meeting with support from outgoing Executive Director Angela Morrey and newly-hired Executive Becky Broderick.
