Forty-three new confirmed cases of coronavirus were recorded by Iroquois County Public Health department officials Monday. There's now 577 total confirmed cases since the pandemic began.  Another 20 additional cases have not been verified through contact snce this release was posted. 

The health department stated many of the Iroquois County most recent cases have been linked to large events in the community such as unofficial homecomings and weddings. Officials ask tzhe public to refrain from attending large gatherings, it's causing incrfeased illness within the community.

25 Weekend COVID Cases in Vermilion County--

The Vermilion County Health Department reported 25 COVID-19 cases combined between Saturday and Sunday. New cases included five people in their 20's and one preschooler. Vermilion County currently has 185 active coronavirus cases and 1,675 positive cases overall.

Kankakee County added 103 new confirmed cases Friday.  The total number of cases there now at 3,740.
