Iroquois County has focus on contingency plan

Following up on direction from the Policy & procedure committee, the Iroquois County Board is agreeing to create a plan to deal with loss of revenue, should it happen. The COVID-19 pandemic leaves a lot of uncertainty about what the future finances may have in store. Board Chairman John Shure suggests all department heads be involved in getting everyone onboard….should there be a substantial reduction in revenue.

Shure also got the green light from the Board on renewing a past-practice of periodic job performance reviews for those employees who report to the Chairman and County Board.

Tuesday’s meeting was a return to the Administrative Center after an absence since the pandemic began in March. Meetings had been held at the Highway Department Garage in order to practice social distancing. The Board will continue to make needed adjustments, if necessary, to handle the challenges of the pandemic crisis.
