Iroquois County Board OK’s motions

The Iroquois County Board (Tuesday) approved a motion to extend the County Farm Contract with Walker Farms. The one-year extension is at the current price of $275 per acre for managing about 400 acres.

Also approved was a motion for a Twin City Energy proposal for a 36-month term based on today’s (7/14) pricing of .287. The proposal is from the Mansfield Company.

A Garbage Contract will continue on a month-to-month basis with bids to be considered – moving forward.

The Management Committee also brought a property easement to the Board for soccer field, just north of the County Administrative Center. The Watseka Park District owns the soccer field, having used that area for soccer activities. Now, the Watseka High School soccer team will also make use of the soccer field. It’s a plan that had been talked about earlier, moving the high school soccer activities from the Unit Nine administration grounds, west of town, back to the city limits.

Another motion to increase the monthly rent per square foot for the 9-1-1 lease arrangement at the County Administrative Building was pushed back to the Management Committee for further discussion.
