Indiana drivers warned about school bus stop arm violations

Porter County, IN police will team up this week to crack down on motorists not stopping for school buses. The enforcement is to bring awareness to motorists failing to stop for school buses loading and unloading students.

The Stop Arm Violation Awareness Campaign is a coordinated effort among Valparaiso, Porter County and Indiana State Police.

"The goal is to educate drivers about the dangers of illegally passing a school bus when its stop arm is extended, putting children's lives at risk," police said.
