The Illinois Department of Human Services reported a new outbreak of coronavirus at the Shapiro Developmental Center in Kankakee. Nineteen residents along with at least 13 staff members were recently diagnosed. The facility is working with county health officials and the Illinois Nurses Association since the finding was known at the end of June. This latest report comes after an outbreak in April when 25 staff and 80 residents tested positive.
