COVID-19 Update: Illinois surpasses 200,000 cases; 11 New Cases in Vermilion County; 6 new in Ford, 3 in Iroquois County

The Illinois Department of Public Health said 1,834 new cases were reported statewide and 24 more people have died. The state climbed past the 2000,000 mark in total cases. IDPH is reporting a total of 200,427 cases and 7,696 deaths.

The Vermilion County Health Department announced 11 new coronavirus cases Thursday afternoon. Cases are one person in their 60’s, two people in their 50’s, three people in their 30’s, one person in their 20’s, one teenager and three grade-school-aged children. Administrator Doug Toole says six of the new cases are between two families. Vermilion County now has 28 active cases.

Three new cases were reported by Iroquois County Public Health. The total now is 275 confirmed cases. Ford County added six new cases for a total of 76. Kankakee County Public Health reported 17 new cases Thursday; the total case load is now 1,920.
