COVID-19 Numbers, County Stats ...

There were just six deaths added to the state’s COVID-19 death toll Sunday, the lowest daily toll in weeks. There were 27 deaths public health officials added to the total from Thursday through Saturday. Since the pandemic began in March, there have been a total of 7,020 deaths related to COVID in Illinois. There’ve been over 1.7 million tests performed with 147,000 positive cases.

Every county in Illinois is below the targets laid out by the Illinois Department of Public Health. The latest county-level data through June 27 has every county below the target of new cases per capita, testing positivity, deaths and other metrics. The previous weekly report all counties but Cass in central Illinois were hitting the targets. While Cass is hitting all targets in the latest, it does have 215 new cases per 100,000 people. {IRN referral}

Iroquois County Public Health was reporting 162 active cases as of last Thursday. Entering the holiday weekend, Ford County Public Health added three new coronavirus cases, now at 37 total. Livingston County was reporting 47 cases and Grundy County was up to 171.  Champaign County reported 8 new cases Sunday, now totaling 931.

In Indiana --- new cases were reported Sunday in Jasper, Tippecanoe and White Counties. Tippecanoe increased by 21 from Saturday's report.
