COVID-19: IL's daily record of cases, surpasses half-million

A daily record of 12,623 newly confirmed and probable Coronavirus cases in Illinois now sends the total case count past 500,000.  Illinois set another daily record for newly confirmed cases of COVID-19 today (Tuesday) as the total number of cases since the pandemic began soared again. State public health officials reported 12,623 new cases and 79 more deaths Tuesday, raising the statewide death toll to 10,289.

Mitigation efforts continue. Region 6 and 7 of the Re-store Illinois Plan have new rules taking effect Wednesday, limiting numbers of patrons seated in any bar or restaurant and limiting gatherings of people to 10 or less.  Health officials continue to cry for cooperation to wear a mask, social distance and wash your hands often.
