Court ruling stops transfers from county jails to state prison

A new court ruling this week (Tuesday) puts a stop to transfers of inmates from County jails to State prison. A Logan County Judge made the ruling.  The Illinois Sheriff's Association sued the state over the issue and Sangamon County said it has 22 transfers on-hold.  The ruling says that transfers will stop until Governor J.B. Pritzker's executive order expires.  The Corrections Department (IDOC) has not commented publicly.
