Cissna Park woman beaten, Danville man arrested for kidnapping

A Danville man was jailed in Vermilion County after his arrest last Wednesday night for the alleged beating of a woman. The victim was then and then forced to drive from her home in Cissna Park to Danville.

25-year-old Vincent Beard was charged with aggravated kidnapping, armed robbery, unlawful use of a weapon by a felon and aggravated battery.

Danville Police report officers responded to a Vermilion Heights location where a 21-year-old woman from Cissna Park was observed with bruises to her face. The woman told police that Beard is her ex-boyfriend. She arrived home to find he had broken into her home and was waiting for her outside. She told officers Beard forced her to drive to Danville, punching her several times in the face and head and threatened her with a handgun. Police report finding a handgun inside the vehicle.

Beard, according to reports, has a lengthy criminal history, with convictions for robbery, aggravated battery and possession of a controlled substance.
