A woman has been identified after she was found dead in a ditch on June 3rd along Newton County Road 600 East south of State Road 10. The Newton County Coroner's Officer along with the Newton County Sheriff's Office and ISP confirmed the woman to be 29 year old Tawanna Miller from Chicago. The body was discovered by a county highway employee mowing roadsides on County Road 600 E. The Newton County Coroner said Miller was positively identified after her DNA was matched with that of her mother and sister.

The cause and manner of death are still pending toxicology results and the investigation is still open.
