23-year-old Charles Garrett of Danville is in custody facing charges in Vermilion County. He led several local police agencies on a several-mile chase Saturday that ended in Indiana. Garrett is facing weapons offenses after an alleged kidnapping in Danville. Illinois State Police gave chase after suspect Garrett’s vehicle was spotted at Route 24 and 45 in Gilman about 10:30 am. State Police, Watseka Police and Iroquois and Newton County sheriff’s deputies, and Indiana State troopers were all involved in the pursuit. Stop–sticks were deployed to bring the vehicle to a halt.

Vermilion County authorities say Garrett was a suspect in an alleged kidnapping. He was also wanted on weapons charges. Police did recover firearms in his vehicle.
