6,110 New Confirmed Cases of Coronavirus Disease

The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) today (Wednesday) reported 6,110 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Illinois, including 51 additional deaths. Kankakee, Will and McLean Counties each recorded new deaths.  The Kankakee and Will County Region, already under reinstated strict mitigation rules, also had a positivity rate at 9.8 percent, that's an increase from the 9.6% percent recorded Tuesday.

Bars and restaurants are prohibited from service inside their business until the surging numbers are reduced to at least 6.5 for 14 consecutive days.

Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 389,095 cases, including 9,619 deaths, in 102 counties in Illinois. The age of cases ranges from younger than one to older than 100 years.
