The First Trust and Savings Bank in Watseka and Clifton Player of the Week (ending 9/15/12) is SENIOR DAULTON DEPATIS OF THE WATSEKA WARRIORS.
In a battle of previously undefeated clubs, the Watseka Warriors improved to 4-0, beating PBL 21-19 in a thrilling home opener at Blake Field. QB Daulton DePatis played a key role, passing for 69 yards, while also rushing for 107 yards on just 12 carries, including 2 TD runs (33 and 2 yards).

Watseka goes to 3-0 with a hard-fought 24-21 win at St. Thomas More. Austin Blair rushing for 191 yards, and his 2ndstraight 4-TD game.
The Central Comets also go to 3-0, taming the Paris Tigers 49-7. The Comets defense limited Paris to only 40 yards of offense, preying on 4 Paris turnovers. Logan Gigl 154 yards rushing and a TD, Noah Frerichs with 2 TD runs. Derrick Graham with several tackles, along with an interception and a blocked punt.
Peotone goes to 3-0, beating Herscher 34-13. QB Jace Cowger rushed for 2 TDs, Danny Beresky with 93 yards rushing and a TD.
Coal City also is 3-0 after a dramatic 9-6 win over Manteno. After missing an earlier PAT, the Coalers Lane Cowherd drilled a 22-yard FG with 6 seconds left for the victory.
PBL over Iroquois West 22-6. Henry Gerritson a 5-yard TD run for the only Raider score. Panther TDs from Weston Weber, Josh Hopkins, and Drew Schrodt, as PBL goes to 3-0.
Also Friday, Thornton over Bradley-Bourbonnais 18-7. Reed-Custer shut out Dwight 26-0. Mark Harper with 2 TD passes and a TD run. Wilmington over Westmont 41-0. Chris Tworek with 2 TDs, Mike Wolfe with 1, as the 2 Wildcats combined for 235 yards rushing. And Brother Rice 30, Bishop McNamara 25. Jonnie Evans 105 yards rushing, Dalton Major with 2 short TD runs.
In Indiana, Winamac beat S. Newton 42-20. Tri-County 24, Frontier 6. Pioneer 20, Caston 6. And West Central beat North White 48-0 to go to 4-0. Michael Hamilton with 162 yards rushing and 3 scores.
Some Friday games had to be postponed to Saturday due to severe weather. Among those were West Lafayette beating Benton Central 28-21 in Indiana. Back in Illinois, Kankakee took out Solario Academy 42-0. Bismarck-Henning all over Milford-Cissna Park 41-6, Jake Rogers 2 yd TD run the only Bearcat score. And Momence lost at St. Joseph-Ogden 34-6, DeAndre Wright limited to 101 yards and a 4 yard TD run.

The First Trust and Savings Bank in Watseka and Clifton Player of the Week for the week ending 9/8/12 is SENIOR AUSTIN BLAIR OF THE WATSEKA WARRIORS.
One of the area's leading rushers and scorers, Austin has been a key leader in Watseka's 3-0 start, all the wins coming on the road. He began the year with 200 yards rushing and 2 TDs at Robinson...then in game 2 at Paris, he ran for another 4 TDs...then in a hard-fought win at St. Thomas More on 9/7, Austin rushed for 191 yards and 3 TDs on 29 carries, and also caught an 11 yard TD pass, making that back-to-back 4-touchdown games.

Many shutouts and lopsided wins in week 2 of Illinois high school football, we start with Bishop McNamara shutting out St. Ignatius 47-0. Jonnie Evans and Dalton Major combined for 364 yards rushing and 6 TDs.
Bradley-Bourbonnais shut down Kankakee 35-0. Colin Holderman with 149 yards passing and 2 TD passes, while Jarrod Ware had 2 TD runs.
The Momence Redskins, ranked #4 in the AP Class 2A poll, wiped out Chicago Christian 56-12. DeAndre Wright scored 5 TDs, and had 316 rushing yards, giving him the Momence and area career rushing mark with 4,630 yards.
Jason Morgan had 4 TDs to lead Manteno to a 41-14 win over Reed Custer. Peotone got by Seneca 27-20. Joey Janutis had 2 TDs, one on a kickoff return. While Danny Beresky also had 2 TDs, one of them on a pick-6.
Iroquois West goes to 2-0, shutting out Blue Ridge 38-0. Henry Gerritson rushing for 134 yards, and 2 TDs, one on a 73-yard kickoff return for a score.
Watseka wiped out Paris 49-21. Daulton DePatis 130 yards rushing and 1 TD, Tanner Martin had a pick-6, and Austin Blair added 65 yards rushing and 4 TDs of his own.
Milford all over Broadlands Heritage 55-6 to go to 2-0. The Bearcats’ Josh Marquez rushed for 162 yards, and 2 TDs. QB Jacob Marquez threw for 127 yards, and 3 TD passes. Also 3 TD runs by Devon Laubscher.
Elsewhere, Wilmington shut out Sandwich 27-0. Coal City shut out Dwight 41-0. And Lisle beat Herscher 27-17.
Central wiped out Salem 55-0 in a lightning-shortened game from 9/1/12. J.R. Caspary threw 3 TD passes, Logal Gigl rushed for 135 yards and 2 scores.
As for Indiana Week 3, it was Class A #6 ranked Pioneer all over S. Newton 62-3. Fountain Central all over Riverton Parke 65-6, Michael Duane with 3 TDs and a safety. Tipton over Benton Central 47-7. West Central over Tri-County 61-6. Winamac 42, North White 32. Caston 41, Frontier 6. And North Newton easily over Calumet 48-13, Chad Schultz rushed 20 times for 246 yards and 5 TDs.
