New Fire Chief named in Bradley

The Village of Bradley has a new Fire Chief. Jim Baird was relieved of his duties Tuesday by Mayor Bruce Adams.  Named to replace Baird is former Deputy-Chief James Travis.

Mayor Adams announced the change but he declined to say why he made the decision.

Baird was named the village’s first full-time fire chief five years ago under then-mayor Gael Kent.

Before that, Baird spent his entire, 38-year career in the south suburban Lansing Fire Department, where he rose to the rank of assistant chief.
