Governor Quinn Announces $456,000 for Bridge Painting Projects in Iroquois County

Illinois Jobs Now! Projects Will Improve State’s Infrastructure and Create Construction Jobs

GILMAN – Governor Pat Quinn Thursday announced a total of more than $456,000 in capital investments for two bridge painting projects in Iroquois County. The projects are part of Governor Quinn’s agenda to create jobs and drive Illinois’ economy forward.

“These projects will protect the state’s investment on these two bridges in Iroquois County,” Governor Quinn said. “The projects will also employ a number of workers, which will help the local economy as well.”

The projects involve cleaning and painting the structural steel of bridges carrying Township Road 58A over I-57 about a mile south of Gilman, and Township Road 26A over I-57 about three-quarters of a mile north of the Buckley interchange.

These projects are part of Governor Quinn’s $31 billion Illinois Jobs Now! program, which is supporting more than 439,000 jobs over six years.
