Kankakee Fire Chief Ron Young reported Friday the cause of the Thursday night fire at Sun Chemical manufacturing was unknown, but the fire did about $76,000 in damage.

Kankakee Fire, Kankakee Township, and Bradley Fire responded to the call on Festival Drive, along I-57 about 8 pm.

Sun Chemical makes organic pigment for use in printing inks, plastics, paints and cosmetics.
