Watseka Community High School teacher and coach Brent McTaggart has died. The 36-year-old was critically injured in a single-car accident Saturday afternoon. He died this (Tues) morning at Carle Hospital in Urbana.

McTaggart was airlifted to Carle from Iroquois Memorial Hospital in Watseka Saturday. His vehicle hit a bridge near 1400N Road in Sheldon Township. The vehicle flipped and landed in a field.

The crash remains under investigation.

McTaggart was an art teacher and coached the school's freshman football team this past season.

Champaign County Coroner Duane Northrup said his office has not yet determined if an autopsy will be performed.
