Indy woman is killed after walking into traffic on I-65

JASPER COUNTY, Ind. - An Indianapolis woman was killed last night after walking into traffic on I-65 in Jasper County.

Indiana State Police report 66-year-old Betty Rush walked into the right lane of traffic on I-65 northbound near the Demotte exit.

She was struck by a car driven by a 22-year-old male from Gary, Indiana.

Rush was then hit by a semi also traveling in the right lane.

State troopers believe Rush may have been struck by several other vehicles whose drivers did not realize it was a person.

Rush was pronounced dead at the scene by the Jasper County coroner.
