Hartshorn to lead Illinois Sheriff's Association

Vermilion County Sheriff Pat Hartshorn has been elected to serve as President of the Illinois Sheriff’s Association.  As President, Hartshorn will be responsible for providing leadership to the 102 elected Sheriff’s of Illinois and the association’s office in Springfield.

Supreme Court Justice Rita Garman of Danville administered the oath of office at a banquet held in Hartshorn’s honor at the Abraham Lincoln Hotel in Springfield.  State Treasurer Dan Rutherford was the key note speaker at the dinner which was emceed by State Representative Chad Hays.

The Illinois Sheriff’s Association has 37,000 associate members made up of private citizens who support the goals and initiatives of the Sheriff’s Association.  Hartshorn served on the organization’s Executive Board and Board of Directors prior to being elected President of the group.
