The Village of Crescent City and the Crescent-Iroquois Fire Protection District have issued an outdoor burn ban, until further notice.  Mayor Jim Ward says it's just too dry and there's been some instances that have almost gotten out of hand. 

The burn ban is effective immediatley.

 The Piper City Village Board has also issued a burn ban until further notice.

The ban, which includes trash burning, campfires and brush piles, is prompted by the drought. Violators will be given one warning by Police Chief Fred Fanning before a fine is levied for a second offense.

Village President Dick Chandler is also asking residents to reduce their use of water.
