Sugar Creek Festival this Weekend

The popularity of the Sugar Creek Festival is now 10-years-old.  The event, which started in Watseka, is now a county-wide attraction.  And Iroquois County’s 3-day festival here in 2012 THIS WEEKIEND has a lot of people/organizations excited.

The festival brings professional opera performances and art attractions, with additional offerings being wine tastings and a tour of historical churches in Iroquois County.

Stage Manager Scott Parry sets the stage for not only the opera productions, but  weekend events that should please everyone………

Thousands of people attended last year.  Similar numbers are likely again in this the 10th anniversary year.

And Parry is no stranger to this.  He was involved from the start when Watseka-native Helen Todd out it all together.  Using her talent and opera connections, Sugar Creek was born.  Scott Parry says there’s reason why this is his 6th year with the festival; and there’s the community support too……….
