Champaign Man Faces Sexual Abuse Charge in Iroquois County

A sexual  assault inside an adult book store finds a Champaign man charged with Criminal Sexual Abuse and Unlawful Restraint.  34-year-old Paul Zindars is free on bond.  He was arrested July 31st after the alleged incident at the Lion’s Den in rural Buckley.

Iroquois County Sheriff’s Police returned from the Ford County Jail Wednesday with Zindars.  He was arrested by Paxton Police, Illinois State Police and the Ford County Sheriff’s Police.

The charges against Zindars resulted from an altercation at the Lion’s Den Tuesday morning.  Police reported Zindars allegedly entered the business, just off I-57, engaged staff in conversation and made a purchase.  He then allegedly cornered a female manager in an office, shut and locked the door to the office, and while inside, assaulted the female employee.  Police said Zindars then left the scene and was apprehended a short time later by authorities.

Buckley ambulance personnel were at the store where the victim refused medical treatment at the time.
