Dugan Receives Prestigious Award for Advocacy of Illinois Firefighters

SPRINGFIELD, IL– In recognition for her years of advocacy and leadership in the legislature on behalf of Illinois firefighters, state Rep. Lisa Dugan (D-Bradley) was presented with the Glen Walters Legislative Awardfrom the Associated Fire Fighters of Illinois during its 39th Biennial Convention on June 14 in Lombard.

Glenn Walters, Sr., deceased President Emeritus of the AFFI, was beloved for his straightforward approach, his ability to hold an audience in the palm of his hand, and his knack for moving legislation forward for the good of firefighters in Illinois.  The Award was established by the AFFI in his memory to be given to those legislators who have acted consistently in the interest of their members.  Dugan was selected to receive the award for her outstanding contributions toward improving the quality of life for fire fighters throughout the State of Illinois”
