Vermilion County Closes Health Care Clinic

The Vermilion County Health Care Medical Clinic at 715 W. Fairchild in Danville has closed its doors.

The closing of the facility on W. Fairchild came with little or no warning.

The clinic had made a transition to becoming a not-for-profit group last spring. Thomas Pollock, chairman of the clinic's board of directors, tells the News-Gazette, the clinic was working towards a classification as a Federally Qualified Health Center "look-a-like" that had the same requirements as actual health centers while not receiving the same benefits.

The news story raises a question as to whether patients have been told of the closing, and how they could get their medical records from the now-closed facility.
