Wind farm developer repairing Ford-Iroquois County roads

The wind farm company—E.On Climate & Renewables --- is making repairs to county and township roads in Ford and Iroquois Counties.

And observers say when completed, the roads will be among the best routes in either county.

The repairs are part of the road-use agreements the county boards and  developer hammered out when the projects were first negotiated.

Pioneer Trail Wind Farm near Paxton is making good progress on its contract to repair the 35 miles of township and county roads used to build the 94-turbine wind farm last fall. The repairs are at E.On’s expense.

Oil and chipping may be done this week.  If weather cooperates, Ford County Highway Engineer Greg Perkinson said the roads should be completed by the end of June.
