Remington couple killed in crash

WHITE COUNTY, Ind.  -  A Remington husband and wife are dead after a crash in White County Saturday morning.

White County Sheriff's Police in Indiana report A Saturday morning crash killed a couple from Remington. The husband-wife. 58-yr-old Ronald and 60-yr-old Rita Lewis, were pronounced dead at the scene of crash at State Road 18 and U.S. 231.

According to police, 33-year-old Courtney Hunley, of Lafayette, was eastbound on State Road 18 when she failed to yield the right of way to  Ronald Lewis, who was southbound.

Hunley and her passenger, 29-year-old Tyra Erb, of Francesville, were treated for injuries at Franciscan Saint Elizabeth East Hospital in Lafayette.

It's unknown whether alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash, and toxicology results are pending. Police said the crash is still under investigation.
