Starting Seeds at Home Workshop at the Watseka Public Library

Do you want to get a jump on the growing season? With warmer days just around the corner, the Watseka Public Library will be hosting a hands-on workshop for adults,"Starting Seeds at Home". Mary Dickinson, University of Illinois Extension Master Gardener, will present the program at 2:00 pm on Tuesday March 19 at the Watseka Public Library. Following the presentation, workshop participants will plant seeds in their own containers to take home and then watch their seeds sprout and grow. When it's time, they can move the plants to their own gardens to enjoy all summer long. The only thing participants are asked to bring are their own empty yogurt containers, margarine tubs, small nursery pots, etc.- anything that can hold soil. A variety of seeds will be provided, as well as the soil-less seed starting mix. The program is free and open to the public. Please call the library at 815-432-4544 for more information and/or to sign-up by Friday, March 15.
