Description
The Iroquois County Historical Society originally planned to conduct its annual Garden Walk in Crescent City. Because the village will be celebrating the 45th anniversary of the 1970 train derailment/explosion in 2015, the group has decided to cancel the walk this year and conduct a Garden Fair Market instead. The plan is to set next yearís Garden Walk in Crescent City. The Garden Faire Market will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 22 on the lawn of the Old Courthouse Museum, 103 W. Cherry, Watseka. For this event, the ICHS is in need of vendors. Vendor items can include artwork, sculptures, antiques, plants and flowers, garden accessories, garden art, handmade jewelry, purses, wood crafts, garden clothing, stained glass, signs and photography. Those who fall in the category of produce/farmerís market vendors are also cordially invited to take part in this event. It is stressed no garage/rummage sale items are accepted. Participating vendors should note the ICHS will not provide any tables, tents or chairs so each participant needs to be responsible for his/her own. Food, drinks and homemade ice cream will be available for purchase in the ICHSís new red barn, located on the east side of the museum. Those who would like more information about the Garden Faire Market or those who would be interested in participating as a vendor, should call the museum at 815-432-2215. Business hours of the museum are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Friday. Questions can be directed to Judy Ficke, office manager of the museum. The ICHS sent out a letter to those who had originally planned to participate in the 2014 Garden Walk, explaining the idea of changing Crescent Cityís participation to 2015.
