Maricle paintings, post card collection at Old Courthouse Museum
The current exhibiting artist for July and August at the Old Courthouse Museum, 103 W. Cherry, Watseka, is Jesse Maricle of Bourbonnais. His show consists of prints made from his original oil and watercolors. He enjoys painting forest scenes from early Iroquois and Kankakee county history, plants, animals, fish and boating. Also featured in the art gallery showcase is the post card collection of Denise Corke, Watseka. Her interests are revealed in this collection of local, regional, national and international places. Thirty foreign countries are represented in this display. Gallery and museum hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, plus 1-4 p.m. the first Sunday of each month. Other times and tours are available by special appointment and those can be arranged by calling the museum office at 815-432-2215.
