Sarah Prager - LGBTQ History's Relevance Today
KCC Gay-Straight Alliance presents: LGBT History and its Relevance Today Wednesday, October 23 from 12-1pm in KCC Auditorium, room L110 This event is free and open to the public. In honor of LGBT history month, Sarah Prager will speak on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgendered history. Learn about historical figures in the LGBT community, what they achieved and how their actions paved the way for human rights today. Also learn about Quist, a mobile app that brings LGBT history to life. Sarah Prager, 27, began her life as an activist at age 14 when she came out as a lesbian. She has worked for LGBTQ organizations from Bulgaria to Connecticut on causes including bi-phobia, and marriage equality, Pride parades, and HIV prevention. Prager launched the mobile app Quist in late July 2013, a free resource that brings LGBTQ history to life on Apple and Android smartphones and tablets. Quist has been covered by dozens of outlets and downloaded over 12,000 times in 60 countries. This event is free and open to the public.
