This Saturday the 22nd of June starting at 12:00 noon and running until roughly dark the Iroquois county amateur radio club will be having its annual field day. Field day is a national contest put on by the ARRL or Amateur radio relay league. Its main purpose is to allow general public to experience ham radio and to see all the many avenues that ham radio encompasses. Ham radio is very much alive in this country, ham radio operators service our communities in multiple ways from storm spotting to emergency communications when all else fails ham radio is there. We would like to invite any and all to come experience what ham radio has to offer this Saturday the 22nd of June at noon at the trinity church parking lot in Watseka next to Wal-Mart. We will have a gota station which stands for get on the air so any and all may try their hand at making a contact for the first time. The American red cross and Iroquois county ESDA will also be on site with information.
