Summer Reading Program 2024 Kick-off Party
The 2024 Summer Reading Program will begin on Monday, June 3rd! Join us at the Kick-off party on Monday, June 3rd from 9AM - 5PM. There will be registration prizes, event sign ups, activities, snacks, and more! You cannot sign up for Beanstack and the Summer Reading events before June 3rd.
Trash the T-shirt Contest
Come to the Summer Reading kick-off Party and sign up for the Trash the T-shirt Contest. Summer Reading is open to all ages (even adults!) This year's summer reading theme is Read, Renew, Repeat. Take any old t-shirt and restyle it for this event. You must submit your restyled t-shirt by June 21. Styles will be displayed in the library and prizes will be awarded! Winners will be announced on June 24. This event is open to all ages! You must be registered for the Summer Reading Program on Beanstack to enter.
Preschool Story Time - "Summer Time"
Wellness Walk
Enjoy the outdoors as you build healthy habits. Each Wednesday thru June 12 join the Newton County Extension for a brief wellness lesson and walk around Cast Park in Kentland. You will begin at the pavilion at 10:30am. Contact the Newton County Extension Office to register - (219) 474-6081.

Ag in the Classroom + Mock Livestock Auction
Ag in the Classroom will be at the Library on Friday, June 7th to make ice cream with the kids. After that, Rob from RW Property Service will conduct a Mock Livestock Auction at the library. Children under 8 will need a helper. Sign up is required as space is limited. Sign ups will be available during the Summer Reading Kick-off Party on Monday, June 3rd.

Participants will explore the various consequences of isolation and loneliness and strategies for keeping in touch with others.
