Contest and Promotions Rules
I. SPONSORS
All promotions presented in the local programming of WGFA AM & FM, a product of Iroquois County Broadcasting are exempt to being won by the radio station and it’s sponsors. Collectively referred to as “Sponsors”.
II. ELIGIBILITY
Age requirements vary by contest and prize, but all entrants must be must be legal residents of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia at time of entry.
Only one entry per person per contest. Only one winner per person, family or household every 30 days for prizes under $100 in value and 90 days over $100 in value.
Any individuals (including but not limited to employees, consultants, independent contractors, and interns) who have, within the past six months, performed services for Iroquois County Broadcasting, WGFA AM & FM, and any organizations responsible for sponsoring, fulfilling, administering, advertising or promoting the sweepstakes or supplying the prize, and/or their respective parent, subsidiary, affiliated and successor companies, and immediate family and household members of such individuals, are NOT eligible to enter or play. “Family” shall mean parents, step-parents, children, step-children, siblings, stepsiblings, or spouses. “Household” shall mean people who share the same residence at least three months a year.
III. HOW AND WHEN TO ENTER
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY.
All contests are LOCAL CONTESTS and the odds of winning vary by the amount of people trying to call enter when a contest is announced and the “call to action” is given.
All “On Air” contests are entered by calling WGFA AM & FM Studio Line at (815) 432-4997 when the personality tells you to dial to participate and in the specific prize being offered at that time. To win, you must be the designated caller. (i.e.: 3rd, 9th, or 100th). If the contest is a “trivia contest” or other game of skill the first person with the correct answer after the designated caller is the winner. Faxline Trivia can be entered online at WGFARadio.com or via fax at (815) 432-4957.
To win contests offered in The Breakfast Club at “WGFARadio.com.com”, you must be a Valid Breakfast Club Member. Members may enter the Breakfast Club and register to win by clicking “Enter Current Breakfast Club Contests Here”, and then registering for the specific contest(s) available. Any age restrictions that apply to a specific contest or prize will be announced at the time that prize is offered, whether the contest is on-air or in the Breakfast Club.
WGFA AM & FM is not responsible for a listeners inability to participate in our contests due to our broadcast schedule of programming which may be preempted at our discretion.
Entries remain the property of WGFA and will not be returned or acknowledged.
IV. HOW AND WHEN WINNERS ARE SELECTED AND NOTIFIED
Participants in on air contests are notified immediately that they have won when they call.
Winners of Breakfast Club Contests are selected at random from all valid entries at the time designated in the rules of each individual contest and are notified via email by the WGFARadio.com Webmaster
All prizes, unless otherwise noted are to be picked up within 1 week from the time of winning at the WGFA Studios during normal business hours.
V. PRIZE(S)
Approximate Retail Value of On-Air and Listener Club Prizes vary by contest. Federal, state and local taxes, if any, are the sole responsibility of the winner, who will receive an IRS Form 1099 reflecting the final actual value of any prize valued at $600 or more.
Winners are not entitled to exchange or transfer prizes or to obtain cash or other substitutes, but Sponsor in its sole discretion may substitute prizes of equal or greater value.
Sponsors are not responsible for any circumstances that make it impractical or impossible to fulfill any element of the prize. If certain elements of the prize have no approximate retail value, and if it becomes impractical or impossible to fulfill this or these elements, Sponsor’s only obligation will be to provide the remainder, if any, of the prize.
VI: RELEASES
By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these official rules and the decisions of the sponsors and the sweepstakes administrator, which shall be final in all respects. By participating in this sweepstakes and accepting any prize that they may win, entrants agree to release Iroquois County Broadcasting, WGFA AM & FM; their parent, subsidiary, affiliated and successor companies, advertising and promotion agencies and prize suppliers, and each of their respective officers, directors, agents, representatives and employees, as well as each of their respective successors, representatives and assigns (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from any and all actions, claims, injury, loss or damage arising in any manner, directly or indirectly, from participation in this sweepstakes and/or acceptance or use of the prize.
Entrants authorize the Released Parties to use their name, voice, likeness, biographical data, city and state of residence and entry materials in programming or promotional material, worldwide in perpetuity, and/or on a winner’s list, if applicable, without further compensation unless prohibited by law. Sponsor is not obligated to use any of the above mentioned information or materials, but may do so and may edit such information or materials, at Sponsor’s sole discretion, without further obligation or compensation.
VII. MISCELLANEOUS
All Contest are Void where prohibited. All federal, state and local laws and regulations
apply.
Iroquois County Broadcasting and WGFA AM & FM are not responsible for any contest participants inability to enter any contest due to telephone difficulty, busy phone lines, cell or telephone disconnects or lack of service, ISP or software failures. If a contestant is the correct caller, but is cut off before the completion of the contest, that entry will be declared null and void, and the prize awarded to the next completed caller. Any telephone, cell phone, or ISP charges involved in entering the contest are the responsibility of the entrant.
Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process and to cancel, terminate, modify and/or suspend the contest in the event of tampering or other circumstances, including but not limited to acts of God or civil disturbance that render it impractical or impossible to complete or fulfill the contest as originally planned.
Individual Rules are posted for all major contests, both on air and Breakfast Club and those rules supersedes our Standard Contest Rules for those contests.
