1 to 3 inches. Highs in the mid 30s. Northeast winds 10 to 20 mph. Gusts up to 30 mph late in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation 100 percent. Southern parts of Indiana may be in line for up to eight inches of snow.

> The Illinois Department of Transportation and Illinois State Police have announced details for the “Buzzed Driving is Drunk Driving” campaign in an effort to prevent impaired driving around this weekend’s big game. They’re also reminding fans to buckle up before traveling to and from desired locations. Transportation Secretary Gary Hannig says “Super Bowl Sunday is about family, fun, good competition and safety and we want everyone to enjoy and stay sober if you plan to drive.”

> A fire at Belson Steal Center in Bourbonnais alerted several fire departments Thursday morning. The fire, according to chief Jim Baird, was contained to a storage shed and some of the contents. No injury was involved. Traffic on Larry Power Road was detoured while emergency crews made their way into the plant’s entrance. Damage estimates and the cause are under investigation.

> A railroad crossing near Mazon in Grundy County is getting safety improvements. State Representative Careen Gordon announced the Illinois Commerce Commission has granted an application for the installation of automatic flashing light signals and gates at the Tynan Road crossing. Gordon said the safety of rural motorists, including farmers, will benefit from the improvements. The estimated cost to install the lights and gates is $438,800. The Grade Crossing Protection Fund pays 93% of the installation. The Mazon Township Road District and the Burlington Northern Railway Company will pay the remaining costs.

> An autopsy has confirmed what police investigators were led to believe, the shootings of an elderly Bradley couple was a murder-suicide. 86-year-old Bobby Karr and 84-year-old Dorothy Karr both died from gunshout wounds to the head. That’s the ruling from the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office. The couple died at Oak Lawn’s Christ Hospital after they were found in their Bradley home last Sunday. Authorities report the autopsy findings that Bobby Karr shot his wife before turning the gun on himself.

> Family and friends of Kankakee County Sheriff Deputy Dave Stukenborg are expressing their gratitude for the overwhelming success of a benefit for the injured deputy. More than $50,000 was raised during last Saturday’s benefit in Bradley. The goal was to raise about $30,000.

The 47-year-old Stukenborg, a 14-year sheriff’s deputy, was seriously injured Nov. 7 during a rollover accident in eastern Kankakee County while responding to what was determined to be a bogus 911 call. In the accident, Stukenborg’s sixth vertebra was shattered. The injury resulted in the deputy being paralyzed from the chest down.

> A traffic stop by Watseka Police led to additional charges against 34-year-old Bryan Urban of Watseka. Charges of operating a vehicle with an Expired Registration, No Valid Driver’s License and No Insurance were enhanced with his arrest for DUI, Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

> A Momence man is jailed for Delivery of Crack Cocaine. 51-year-old William Campbell was arrested by KAMEG agents Tuesday night during an undercover investigation.
