Two Limestone residents died in a motorcycle crash Saturday near Watseka, marking a second straight day a traffic fatality occurred in Iroquois County.
45-year-old Willis Kilpatrick was pronounced dead after being air-lifted to Carle Hospital in Urbana. His passenger on a Harley Davidson motorcycle, 35-year-old Penny Jo Raj {Rozsh}, was pronounced dead at Iroquois Memorial Hospital in Watseka.
The crash remains under investigation by the District 21 Illinois State Police Reconstruction Unit and the Iroquois County Coroner’s Office.
State Police, Watseka Police, Crescent City Fire & EMS and the Iroquois Memorial Ambulance Service responded to the single-vehicle motorcycle crash on the Route 24 curve, just west of Watseka at County Road 1800 E. The eastbound cycle driven by Kilpatrick failed to negotiate a curve, ejecting both the driver and passenger. Both victims were initially transported to IMH.
